Cow Protection
“The bull is the emblem of the moral principle, and the cow is the representative of the Earth. When the bull and the cow are in a joyful mood, it is to be understood that the people of the world are also in a joyful mood. The reason is that the bull helps production of grains in the agricultural field, and the cow delivers milk, the miracle of aggregate food values. The human society maintains these two important animals very carefully so that they can wander everywhere in cheerfulness.” —Śrīla Prabhupāda
Organic Farms
"We want to start this farm community. Let the people live there, produce their own food, produce their own cloth, and depend on Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa will supply everything. If you depend on Kṛṣṇa, you don’t require these factories, these industries, and so many things which are making the whole world complicated." —Śrīla Prabhupāda
Simple Living
“Therefore our philosophy is simple living and high thinking. Simple living: don’t complicate it. Live very simple life, produce your food, live peacefully, and save time, and try to understand what is God, what is your relationship with Him, and be happy. That is human life.” —Śrīla Prabhupāda
Self-Sufficiency
"Civilization will collapse very soon, all over the world... our farm project are an extremely important part of our movement... If these farms become successful then the whole world will be enveloped by Kṛṣṇa consciousness... The Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement will go down in history as having saved mankind in its darkest hour." —Śrīla Prabhupāda
Sustainability
"Our farm projects are an extremely important part of our movement. We must become self-sufficient by growing our own grains & producing our own milk, then there will be no question of poverty. So develop these farm communities as far as possible. They should be developed as an ideal society depending on natural products, not industry." —Prabhupāda
Wildlife Refuge
"A devotee is kind to everyone, even to the animals. He does not make any distinction that ‘This is an animal, and this is a human being.’ No. He sees everyone as part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa." —Śrīla Prabhupāda
